Hey Y’all — quick life update.
If you haven’t seen already, blkphxaz is officially on Instagram (@blkphxaz) — bringing the blog content straight to your feed, where it’s easy to tap in, share, and stay connected. But I also wanted to take a moment to share a little bit about why I even started this in the first place — and where I’m headed.
When I first launched blkphxaz.com, I was simply following something God placed on my heart. Growing up between the South and the West, I’ve always understood how powerful Black community is — and how different it can feel depending on where you are. Moving to Arizona, I saw firsthand how hard it can be to find your tribe here. And I wanted to create a space that made it just a little bit easier. A space to highlight Black-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, creatives — and really just shine light on our people and our stories.
Starting was the easy part. I didn’t have a perfect plan, but I had a clear purpose. The challenge came in staying consistent — life got busy, things got overwhelming, and at one point I had to step back to catch my breath. But even during that pause, God kept reminding me that this matters. The blog kept growing — hitting #1 on Google, crossing over 10K views, and receiving so many encouraging messages, emails, and DMs from people who found value in the platform.
Every time I wanted to doubt the vision, the feedback reminded me why I started. So after taking time to reset and refocus, I’m back — fully committed, locked in, and ready to continue building.
If you have a Black-owned business or brand here in Arizona, I want to spotlight you. Let’s keep growing, supporting, and uplifting each other. Drop a comment below and let me know what kind of business you have — I’ve added categories in the comments so we can stay organized as we build.
Thank you for your continued support — for seeing the vision, sharing the posts, sending encouraging words, and just being part of this.
We’re only getting started.
Whats the word?
