I’ve been quietly (okay, maybe not that quietly) hoping to find a Black-owned pilates studio in the Phoenix area. Something about being in a space that understands your culture while also prioritizing health and wellness just hits differently. And honestly, for a while, I wasn’t sure it existed out here.
So imagine my excitement when I came across Power+Flow — a Black-owned pilates studio located in Scottsdale. Yes, Scottsdale. I almost did a double take.
Their Instagram @_powerandflow was the first thing that caught my eye. The vibe is elevated, clean, and community-focused. It’s giving intention and style, and it just feels good. I haven’t even gone to my first class yet, and I’m already a fan.
This is the kind of variety I’ve been waiting to see more of in the Valley — Black-owned businesses showing up in wellness spaces, offering something different, something fresh. It’s a reminder that we’re here, we’re investing in our health, and we’re creating spaces that reflect us in beautiful ways.
I’ll definitely share more after I’ve experienced it myself, but I couldn’t keep this gem to myself. If you’ve been thinking about trying pilates and want to support a business that’s building something meaningful — Power+Flow might be just what you’re looking for.
