Did you know Phoenix has late night spots that hit different after a long shift? I recently tried Twin Locos and honestly, it surprised me. They’re open until 4AM every day.
It is run by two brothers who identify their food as soul food. Now, being from the South, I know soul food is deeper than comfort food. What they serve is not exactly traditional soul food, but it is still really good.
I ordered fried catfish with a side of mac and cheese and brought it back to work. Normally, I would be a little self conscious about eating like this at my desk. The food laid out, the smell of seasoned fish trailing me down the aisle. But the moment I took that first bite, all that did not matter.
The catfish was crispy, perfectly seasoned, and the mac and cheese creamy and comforting. It was not just food for the stomach, it was food for the moment, the kind that makes a night shift feel less like a grind and more like a little celebration.
Twin Locos reminded me that sometimes the best late night eats are the ones you do not overthink. You just order, you dig in, and you enjoy it fully. No fuss, no frills, just satisfying and real.
If you are on a late shift, running errands, or just craving something that hits right when the city slows down, Twin Locos is the move. Take it from me, it is worth it.
Whats the word?
